My name is Nathan Perer and I'm a musician. I play jazz, folk, rock and blues.
My instrumental ability is rather dynamic. I play electric/acoustic guitar and fretted bass. I also sing a variety of musical
genres. My forte on acoustic guitar is folk-rock and blues. On electric guitar I mainly play jazz. On bass I play rock and
blues. Vocally I can sing all of the above.
My musical education started at D.B.C.C. with the excellent tutoring of Jimmy Graves(see "Links"), whom still teaches me,
on and off, to this day. My major was Jazz Performance and I continued my musical education at U.S.F. in Tampa.
I've lived in Florida from the time I was a young child; mainly up and down the east coast of Florida from St. Augustine
to Miami and many places in between. I currently reside in Port Orange.
I presently have steady gigs at "The Downwind Cafe/Restaurant" at The Spruce Creek Fly Inn in Port Orange, "The
Blackwater Inn" in Astor, "The Abbey" & "The Coffee Bistro 101" in Deland, "Gryphons Lark" in Ormond Bch., and
"The Golden Lion" in Flagler Beach.
Some repertoire examples are James Taylor, Bread, Grateful Dead, Stevie Ray Vaughan, Eric Clapton, Hendrix, John Mayer,
Dave Mathews, Jack Johnson, Cat Stevens, and Crosby/Stills/Nash. I also play a small selection of originals.
I use a variety of musical equipment. My acoustic is a 514 Taylor that I amplify with a Yorkville or Carvin P.A. system.
My electric guitar is a Gibson ES 135 that I amplify with a Fender Stage 100. For Bass I use a 6 string Ibanez SDGR and amplify
with a Gallien-Krueger 800 RB head and Mesa Boogie 4x10 Powerhouse Cab.
